2 Months

I cannot believe that I have already been here for 2 months! Dass ist sehr crazy (impressed with my german or what?) Mathematical speaking I have been here for 1/6th or 16% of my exchange but who wants to speak mathematically? Math sucks...just kidding kids stay in school! But I really hope that kids don't actually read my blog...

Anyways getting off topic I now know that it is true what they say when "time flies when you are having fun!". The first 2 months have been a blur of outings and trips to historic German landmarks, my Nikon has taken so many pictures that for a poser teen hipster with a camera I probably still have outshot most professional photographers, not that these shots are pure quality, I mean who needs like 16 shots of soup, no matter how delicious that soup is. (which I shall post below) Even though I do have to say that this was the first time I've ever fallen in love with soup, I mean I have fallen in love with food many times before but....I don't know this culinary appetizer masterpiece was different, I can really see us growing old together. Its true love ♡...

Soup (english) Suppe (german) şorbasi (azerbaijani).....the more you know ☆:*´¨`*

RECIPE (for disaster...nope just soup...nope guess again Chuck Testa! no its just soup)
 Ingredients:
- 1 cup of deliciousness
- 2 pieces of warmth
- motha fookin garlic break pieces!!!!!
 Directions:
- have someone who can cook without turning the cooking area in the next Chernobyl, make this soup
- and lastly as the wise Weird Al Jokavich once said "Eat It!"

Other then soup which on slow and dull days here can turn into my "big event of the day" I have also experienced a lot of other firsts, such as the classic, awkward interactions.
In the past I liked to call myself the James Bond of conversations and interaction, cool, calm, collected...ok well to tell ya the truth I was more of a Woody Allen, spastic, over exaggerated and half of the time I would end up kinda mumbling to myself, but hey it worked in a crazy charming sort of way.

But trying to talk to German kids is like trying to open a jar of pickles with your hands covered in lotion. No matter how hard you twist and turn the lid to open up it just doesn't open up, and that may be because opening pickle jars is a torture I'm sure they use in hell and it doesn't make it any easier having greasy lotion hands. But it isn't until you and the jar of pickles are completely drunk that you both end up forgetting that your hands have lotion smothered all over and that the jar of pickles is indeed a jar of pickles and just end up smashing the jar open and finally getting to have a pickle.
Does that make sense?...Probably not here so let me explain.
A lot of us exchange students had problems making friends with the german kids of our school at  fist, and some of us still do. Reason being is that they are pretty shy in comparison to North American & South american teens (plus the Aussies). Some of us may think of that as stuck up, but that is not the case, its just difficult for them to approach a new person, expecially someone who doesn't speak german, first and talk to them about things other than asking factual questions (ie. where are you from? how long are you here? etc.). But it took me a while to realize that I can't just wait for them to approach me I also had to grow some balls and approach them, no matter how humiliating it can be.

In the end I am proud to say that going into November, my 3rd month here, I have finally started to make some friends. I can't wait to see if these relationships grow or not and it is a whole kind of different new adventure, one which I think Rotary is all about, meeting new people and growing closer with communities around the world. Which is definitely something I look forward to doing here over a nice Bavarian beer, (did I mention the beer drinking age here is 16). Until then here are some beautiful pics of places I went with my wonderful host family. Seriously looks like the setting of every Disney princess movie thats why its perfect for me cause I am a princess.

*side note*
Wow this is the deepest post I have yet to make on this blog, ya Rotary I am definitely growing as a person ;)

Represeeeent!!!

What is this even?!? I am still confused/slightly disgusted.

Can't not put they most hipster picture of the bunch in this blog.

Reminds me of those talking historic heads in jars on Futurama.

It's art, you wouldn't understand.

Thomas talking a picture of me, while I take a picture of him, I think we warped a time hole in the universe that day.

Reminds me of the Goblet from Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.

Something that I think Elton John would have in his house or would wear...

They're like the Ben & Jerry's of this place, except instead of ice cream its glass and instead of eating it...its just glass :(

That's probably why I could never work at a glass factory. Maybe a paper supply company, cause Andy works there and all he does it dance and sing.

supposedly a remake of the place were they used to make glass, but I think it'd look good as a potential bar/club

I don't know what this is supposed to be, but I know what it kinda looks like...

This could toats be an album cover for some indie hipster dark techno 80's band (can I get more specific)
